These statements/ herbs have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.

These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

We highly recommend that before using any herbal remedies you consult your health care or medical care provided.

A very important thing to remember is though the herbs I covered are shown to have various healing properties, these herbs work best with the Alkaline Nutritional Guide found on

Taking these herbs while consuming acidic foods like meat, dairy, and processed foods will reduce the efficacy of the herbs in reversing the disease. These herbs help alkalize the body and help restore the health of the organs and metabolic processes of the body.

Its is very important to drink the recommended one gallon of spring water because most herbs are diuretic and strip water from the body!!!!!!!

Sarsaparilla, more formally known as Similaxornata or Similaxofficinale, is a plant that is popular in Jamaica as it is widely believed to contain health benefits. The thorny plant has long fibrous roots and was initially introduced to the island by the Spanish, who brought the plant from Central America to Jamaica as a remedy for syphilis. The nearly evergreen plant contains a small proportion of starch along with traces of glycoside, sarsapic acid, sarsaponin, and fatty acids. The fatty acids present in the sarsaparilla plant include palmitic, stearic, behenic, oleic and linoleic acid.

How to use Sarsaparilla?

In Jamaica, the sarsaparilla’s benefits are usually harnessed by boiling the plant’s root in a clean container for about 20 to 30 minutes. The dark liquid that remains is then covered and left to ferment for at least a day when it is then sweetened with honey and consumed as a beverage in moderate amounts. It is also recommended that women do not consume this herb regularly due to its high testosterone content which may lead to more manly features such as facial hair.

Benefits of Sarsaparilla

The sarsaparilla plant is used in Jamaica for a number of its believed benefits. It is most popularly used today as a base for tonic drinks that are believed to not only serve as an aphrodisiac but also as a way to increase sexual stamina and libido. The plant is also believed to beneficial in the treatment of syphilis and chronic diseases such as asthma and rheumatism. Sarsaparilla is also used to treat gouts, fevers, colds, arthritis, gas and persistent belly aches. There are also some that use the herb to help increase muscle mass due to the high levels of testosterone that are found in the plant.

Although there is a widespread belief in the benefits of sarsaparilla on the island, there are no concrete scientific research that proves these varying benefits. The side effects of continuous use of the herb have also not been definitively highlighted by scientific evidence. Despite this, there are locals that will swear by the medicinal properties of the herb.

Sour Sop

A native of the warm and tropical regions of the Americas, soursop is a fruit that goes by many names. Its scientific name is Annona muricata, but it also goes by guanabana, paw-paw, sirsak, and graviola. Soursop is a member of the Annonaceae family, also known as the custard apple family. The fruits, which grow on trees, are large and oval-shaped. The green exterior, which has spines on it, covers a white, fibrous flesh. They grow up to 8 inches and can weigh up to 10 pounds. Soursop’s flavor can best be described a cross between mango and pineappl

Soursop has many uses in traditional medicine, and it has been used to treat a wide range of health conditions and ailments.

With its strong nutrient profile, it provides a variety of health benefits.

Health Benefits

Soursop is high in vitamin C, an antioxidant known to boost immune health.

The vitamin strengthens your immune system, improving its ability to defend against pathogens.

It also promotes the destruction of free radicals, which can help to protect your skin and cells from environmental oxidative damage. One whole soursop fruit contains 215% of your recommended daily allowance of vitamin C.

Thyroid Health

The thyroid gland is an absolutely vital part of the body located at the front of the neck. It secretes hormones which stimulate the metabolic system, breathing, body temperature and heart rate. An overactive thyroid can lead to feelings of fatigue and abnormal weight loss. Conversely, an underactive thyroid can lead to feelings of sluggishness and an inability to lose weight, regardless of diet.

One of the most critical nutrients for the thyroid is iodine – a compound that is sadly lacking in many Western diets. The thyroid gland contains the highest concentration of iodine than any other organ in the body and you cannot make thyroid hormones without sufficient levels of iodine. Bladderwrack is naturally high in this important nutrient, and in fact Bladderwrack was used to distil the first examples of iodine in the 19th century. According to Dr David Brownstein, author of the bestselling book, “Iodine: Why You Need It, Why You Can’t Live Without It”, iodine levels have been declining over the last 30-40 years whilst thyroid disorders have been increasing. He found that over 95% of his patients with thyroid disorders were iodine deficient.

Whilst it is best to work with a health practitioner who is knowledgeable about iodine therapy if a thyroid disorder is present, keeping your iodine levels up will go a long way to ensure a healthy thyroid remains that way.

Healthy Weight Loss

The iodine found in Bladderwrack is in highly bioavailable form because of the way it interacts with the thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). Iodine is known to stimulate metabolism which in turn leads to weight loss. A sluggish thyroid has long been known to contribute to weight gain and metabolic syndrome. Bladderwrack is also a rich source of fucoxanthin, a carotenoid that is currently being studied for its potential fat-burning effects.

This seaweed is also a natural diuretic, flushing unwanted fluid from the body to combat bloating and water retention. Bladderwrack also makes an appearance in many anti-cellulite creams - cellulite is caused by fluid trapped between fat cells beneath the skin. Its diuretic qualities help to rid the body of the fluid build-up that produces cellulite.

Eye Health

Bladderwrack is not only rich in beta-carotene (plant-based vitamin A), it contains the nutrients fucoxanthin and fucoidan which Chinese scientists are heralding as the “eye nutrients of the future”. Fucoxanthin is the primary part of the light-absorbing mechanism of the seaweed and is what gives it a brown or olive-green color. It is known that the blue light emitted from many types of computer, mobile and hand-held devices is damaging to vision.  As a type of carotenoid known as a xanthophyll, fucoxanthin absorbs blue-green to yellow-green colors of visible light which helps protect vision.

Whilst studies are still preliminary, researchers found that fucoidan may be effective against age-related macular degeneration because it reduces extraneous blood vessel growth where cells have not been receiving enough oxygen. Like fucoxanthin, fucoidan has been found to help resist premature cell aging and death
